Oscar, the best driver in Yucatan

The Yucatan peninsula has to be on your travel list.

It is still relatively unexplored, still relatively unexploited by mass tourism and still retains an aura of authenticity and incredible charm.

Whether it is beaches you’re after, or history, or natural beauty, the Yucatan really has something for everyone, and in order to explore the Yucatan in depth you need to be flexible with your transportation.

You can choose to hire a car and self-drive, it’s very doable.

But if you rather not, we have met the best, safest and most reliable driver in Yucatan: Oscar Zermeño.

Oscar is based in Merida, but he organizes tours throughout the Yucatan peninsula and Quintana Roo.

We spent a few days with Oscar touring Mayan ruins (Ek Balam, Uxmal, Kabah), cenotes, out of reach places like Isla Columpios and a seaside trip to Sisal.

Oscar was always on time, he is very knowledgeable and I discovered many things chatting with him.

Through him I discovered a super yummy Corn ice cream (Elote), Chaya water, Marquesitas, a kind of crispy crepes and a lot of information about the Yucatan which I would have missed otherwise.

Oscar’s rates are very reasonable, he speaks excellent English and he is a safe driver.

So, if you are looking to get to know Yucatan better, get in touch with him.

You can reach Oscar on Whatsapp @+529995753307  or on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090242714442

Mel’s biography

Ciao, my name is Mel, I am Italian but moved to Ireland several years ago, on a lovely odd summer month. Since that was a trick, and has rained ever since, to keep my sanity I travel as much as I can, because this world deserves to be seen. I have a degree in Languages and Ancient History, therefore I am passionate about learning new languages (5 and counting) and a very keen history buff, and I love photography and I am vegetarian. We like to carry around cat dry food, on our travels, to feed as many animals as we can.
37 countries visited so far, some even more than twice, but my bucket list is not getting any shorter!
Join me on the next adventure!
